In 1924, BP opened an oil refinery in fors Bay, in part because of its transport links and the labor force of local skilled shale oil refining.
Starting from the 1950 generation, BP\'s business there is growing to meet the growing demand for petrochemical products and fuels.
The emergence of new sources of crude oil raw materials in the form of North Sea oil in the 1970 s has brought further business to the site.
The refinery\'s raw materials are now mainly supplied by the neighboring British oil company.
Operate jinnier oil and gas processing plant.
Some oil was imported to the site through a pipeline at the deep-water Finnart marine terminal about 60 miles west of Grangemouth.
