This is a quick and simple instruction manual for lawn decoration made of any laundry detergent or softener bottle with side handle (nose).
First add the facial feature, then install the bottle on the pvc pipe.
Then paint the totem head into your favorite Halloween color ,(I chose black).
But stop there!
Your totem head can be further displayed with illuminated led table tennis eyes and/or masks or wigs.
In the evening, lighting your eyes will have a cool effect.
Do a few at the same time, and you can arrange your driveway, sidewalk or ghostly road with these \"evil sad sentries.
\"Items you need here: laundry detergent or softener bottle (
Type with side handle)
PVC pipe with diameter of 1 & 1/2 (4-
6 feet can work normally)
, The stake that will be installed in pvcpipe, painted (
Black is what I use)
, If you want to add to the totem head, there are also two optional table tennis balls to brighten your eyes.
You need a hammer, drill bit, 3/32 drill bit, cross screwdriver or drill bit, propane torch or similar Exacto-
Dry Wall or machine screws of type knife, 1 and 1/2 long, as well as optional soldering iron and melt glue gun, can build bright eye options.
You need two 2 for this added feature. 4 to 2. 6 volt led\'s (
Choice of color--
Green shown in the last photo)
, A volume of two-yard metering colors-
Wire, welding, diameter 1/8 \".
Shrink package tube, small toggle switch and two battery AA battery stand.
I bought these materials for $22 at Shack. 00.
When it comes to Halloween decorations, I don\'t pay anything.
Haha, drill a tight-spaced hole with a round pattern with a 3/32 drill bit to make the outline of the eye and mouth.
The eyes drill holes in the bottle corner and mouth at the bottom of the \"nose\" handle.
They\'re not necessarily perfect, they\'re more like \"out-of-
The better the circle.
Use the Exacto knife or similar tool to remove the hole center by \"connecting point: to blade.
Be careful not to waste time cutting yourself!
Place one end of the pvc pipe at the bottom of the detergent bottle.
At the same time, a 3/32 hole is drilled through the bottle sleeve and PVC pipe.
Use the drill bit in the drill bit or screwdriver, pass the 1 & 1/2 drywall screw or sheet metal screw through the pre-drilled hole, thus fixing the totem head on the pipe.
This is the screw after fixing in place.
Be careful not to tighten too much.
Plastic is easy to peel off.
If you need more holding power, you can add a screw to each side at any time.
Interesting part now!
Driving a stake on the ground with a hammer 810 inches.
Connect the PVC pipe with the head to the pile for standing upright.
Heat the eyes and mouth with a propane torch or something like that.
The idea is to shrink the opening.
Hold on until you get the look you want.
If the plastic is still soft, you can reopen the collapsed area with a screwdriver.
Note: Be careful about the fire.
If hot plastic drops on your arm or hand, it burns your skin.
Work outside and against the wind to avoid smoke and smoke.
Fire out with a small bottle of water if plastic is on fire.
Paint your totem head in any color you choose.
I use black because it helps to hide the detergent bottle decals.
Hats, wigs and/or masks can be added if you wish.
Give your totem head some characters.
Led table tennis is a good enhancement.
I described how to make these next.
Start with ordinary white table tennis.
Drill a 3/16 diameter hole on each ball.
The following steps will guide you to weld the connection to connect two (2. 4-2. 6 volt)
The Led is connected in parallel with two battery AA battery packs and a switch to turn the lights on and off.
Hope the picture of the finished lighting component shown in the picture can help you. .
Each LED must be connected to the correct polarity using two conductor color coded wires.
This means that the positive pole of the led must be connected to the positive pole of the battery pack and the negative pole must be connected to the negative pole. (via switch).
Cut two 12 inch colored coded 2 wires from the line shaft.
I use black and white.
It is also possible to cut at least seven shrink-wrap pipes 3/4 long, using these components to isolate all welding connections. (
Slide the wire before welding).
From the welding front (red)
The lead of the battery pack is the same color as one end of the two color coded wires.
Screw the ends together before welding to ensure safety.
This color is now the lead of the LEDs.
Then weld the two conductor color-coded wires at the same end and the other color to one pole of the switch.
This color is the negative lead of the led.
Again, it would be helpful to screw the ends together before welding.
Remember that the shrink package must continue before welding the connection).
Welding negative (black)
The lead of the battery pack goes to the other pole of the switch.
You should have four free places now.
Two colors each)
In the two conductor color-coded wires, you will weld the lead of the led.
Use the chart on the led package to help you determine which leads are negative and which leads are positive.
Weld the corresponding leads to the correct leads for each led.
A wire attached to one lead of each led.
Remember again, before making the connection, slide the shrink package on the wire lead. (
I made this mistake several times. -frustrating)
Slide the shrink package pipe on the welding connection and shrink with a match or hot gun.
Test to make sure the connection is correct.
If LEDs are not lit, they may be welded to the wrong polarity lead.
If everything is OK, let\'s move on.
Using the same drill/knife technique as making eye and mouth holes, cut a large entrance hole on the back of the totem head to help with the installation of table tennis.
Led/battery/switch assembly.
The Dremel tool with a cutting bit can quickly process this hole and other holes, if you have one handy.
Table tennis with hot melt adhesive in the eye socket and 3/16mm holes (
If lamp option is installed)
Facing inside the bottle.
The socket opening can be shaped with an Exacto knife to achieve a better fit effect (
If you are installing LED lights)
: Insert the round end of the led into the hole of table tennis through the entrance hole at the back of the totem head.
Other led/table tennis repeat.
There is a small flange on the Led that should prevent the led from being inserted into the distance.
If the led is loose, it can be fixed with a drop of melt glue.
If you would like to further decorate the totem, add a mask, hat or other decoration to your totem head.
I used table tennis to align the eye seam in the latex mask to give this totem a \"bug-eyed\"look. (
See Introduction Pictures).
Press the switch and wait for ooooohhhs and ahhhhs to start!
