The Nilgiris regional authority has called on all hotel operators and people selling food to stop packing edible goods in newspapers.
The district authority said in a press release that the region banned the use of newspapers for food packaging and that the national food safety and drug administration would file a lawsuit against anyone found to use newspapers to pack food and sell it.
