coffee and tea in train to be costly: railway board

New Delhi, September 20: Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC)
The price of coffee and tea on the train has been raised from RS 7 to Rs 10.
IRCTC issued an order after reviewing the tariffs and menus for meals on board.
A notice adopted by the Railway Commission states that \"the tariff on tea and coffee is amended and fixed at Rs 10 per cup.
Standard tea, however (not dip tea)
RS 5 will be provided at that time.
\"The board requested a change in the licence fee accordingly and adjusted the price as required.
IRCTC serves about 350 trains with dining cars.
There will be no change in the prices of Rajdhani and Shatabdi, as the food packaging on these trains is prepaid.
Railway Minister Piyush Goyal stressed that the supplier charged too much for the food provided on the train and said that food would be free if the passenger did not receive the bill.
Catering personnel are required to use POS (point of sale)
Machines for accounting
The catering supplier advised the board that the price of all food should be a multiple of five to help passengers and reduce the overcharged situation.
The ministry issued a toll card after being complained by passengers about overcharged meals, water bottles and tea and coffee charges on the train.
The department posted a list of rates on Twitter and asked people to file a complaint when charging more.
