On Wednesday, Labor Department officials conducted a surprise inspection at a vegetable store in the Gandhi market, after complaints about the weight of goods sold by traders.
The inspections started in the early hours of the morning and were carried out in all vegetable stores where officials checked the electronic weighing scales and the traditional weighing scales.
Officials checked whether the weighing scale was stamped after the annual verification.
During the inspection, officials seized 37 weighing scales, including 30 unupdated electronic balances, an official statement said.
