A combination weigher, also known as a multihead weigher, is an advanced automatic weighing machine designed for high-precision packaging solutions. Widely used in the food, pharmaceutical, and daily chemical industries, it meets strict measurement requirements with reliable accuracy and efficiency.
By integrating intelligent algorithms and automated control, combination weighers ensure precise weighing, stable performance, and consistent product quality. They streamline the entire packaging process—from feeding, weighing, and filling to sealing and date coding—helping manufacturers reduce labor costs, minimize errors, and achieve higher production efficiency.
The core principle of a combination weigher lies in simultaneous weighing with multiple independent units, usually ranging from 8 to 32 heads. Each weighing hopper automatically records the material weight, while the integrated control system compares the data against the preset target. Through advanced optimization algorithms, the machine selects the most accurate weight combination closest to the desired value. This intelligent weighing method ensures high packaging accuracy, minimizes overweight or underweight errors, reduces raw material waste, and significantly improves batch acceptance rates.
1. Feeding Products are conveyed to the infeed funnel, where the top cone evenly distributes them into the linear vibrator pans through controlled vibration.
2. Distribution From the vibrator pans, products drop into feed hoppers. Once the weighing hopper completes its cycle, the feed hopper automatically opens, releasing products into the weighing hopper for the next weighing process.
3. Combination The central CPU collects weight data from each weighing hopper and uses optimization algorithms to calculate the most accurate combination that matches the preset target weight.
4. Discharging Methods Combination weighers support four discharging options to meet different production needs:
Direct Discharge (Timing Hopper = 0): Products are discharged directly from the collecting funnel.
Timing Hopper Discharge (Timing Hopper = 1): Products are temporarily stored in a timing hopper, then discharged to shorten drop time and improve efficiency.
Dual Equipment Discharge (Timing Hopper = 2): Products are stored in the timing hopper and discharged into two machines simultaneously, boosting high-speed output.
Timing Hopper + Auto-Sorting (Timing Hopper = 3): Products are stored in the timing hopper, while unqualified weights are automatically sorted into a reject channel, ensuring accuracy and quality.
