A Danish student has found the wreckage of a messesmit fighter jet that crashed on his farm during World War II.
The unusual discovery was due to a joke made by the boy\'s father.

The old son, Daniel, said there had been family rumors long ago that a German fighter jet had been shot down at a family farm in Bickler, northern Denmark, on 1944.
When Daniel received a project at school about war, Kristianson jokingly advised him to go out and find a plane.
\"When Daniel recently received homework on World War II, I jokingly told him to go out and find the plane that was supposed to have crashed in the wild, and he told a Danish radio station.
They were equipped with metal detectors and began to search the fields.
To their surprise, the metal detector began to beep.
They started digging with spades, but did not find any mechanical excavators brought in like this.
The father and son began to find debris from the plane at about 12ft in depth.
They eventually managed to recover from the engine of Messerschmitt Bf 109, bullets from machine guns, and even the remains of the pilot.
\"We found a motor and then suddenly we found some bones and parts of the pilot\'s clothes,\" Mr. Kristiansen told the BBC . \".
And then we found something personal.
A rich wallet. . .
Either a little Bible or My Kampf-
He has a book in his pocket.
We didn\'t touch it, just put it in some bags.
The farmer, Mr. Kristiansen, contacted the authorities to tell them what he and his son found.
He said his grandfather had mentioned that a German fighter jet crashed on their land, but he did not believe him.
\"Maybe I should listen to him more when he is alive,\" he said . \".
The crash site was closed and bomb disposal experts were called to safely dispose of ammunition.
Forensic experts hope to be able to identify the pilots.
If they succeed, he will have a military funeral in Germany.
More than 30,000 Messerschmitt Bf 109 s were produced during the war, becoming the pillar of the German air force fighter.
