Brief introduction of food packaging industry

   China's food packaging machinery industry was born in a market economy, basically companies are freely combined.

On the one hand, when China first entered the market economy in the early 1980s, a group of small and medium-sized enterprises had no choice but to leave the national plan. Enterprises encountered great difficulties. Some enterprises that originally manufactured machine tools and agricultural machinery turned to packaging machinery, In the development and manufacturing of automatic cartoning machines and food machinery; in addition, because of market demand, some private companies are also optimistic about this industry, looking for a way out in packaging and food machinery. In this case, the Ministry of Machinery Industry established the Packaging Machinery Committee of China Packaging Technology Association in 1981, the Food Machinery Professional Association of China Food Industry Association was established in 1984, and the above two secondary associations were merged to form China Food in September 1989. And Packaging Machinery Industry Association (national first-level association, with corporate legal person). With this as the starting point, the food and packaging machinery industry was truly established and became one of the twelve industries directly under the control of the Ministry of Machinery Industry.

  Compared to China's machinery industry, the food and packaging machinery industry is 32 years late, so it is a childish industry. Although it is developing rapidly, there are also serious shortcomings, mainly in the following three aspects.

  Because each enterprise has different origins (state-owned, collective, and private), the capital, equipment, and technical strength differ greatly, and the starting point is also different. The general trend is that there are fewer high starting points, and most enterprises are hovering on low-level equipment. It is better to compare it with a simple automatic sealing machine. In a region, there are nearly 100 companies producing, the scale is not large, there has not been much change in the past two decades, but the production cost has been greatly reduced because of the implementation of specialized production. Although the demand is large, because of the repeated production in a large number of unified areas, resulting in fierce competition at low prices, a machine can be traded for more than 1,000 yuan, and the profit space is already very small. There are still some products whose faces have not changed for more than ten years (such as small liquid filling machines). There are many production companies. Low-cost competition has resulted in cutting corners and reducing steel grades, which has greatly reduced the resistance to wear and corrosion. Some companies just follow up after others, see what equipment is easy to do, others make money on what equipment they make, they never copy intellectual property rights and copy each other, causing market confusion. An entrepreneur said: 'In the past, I worked on new products. Everyone did it within half a year. They forced me to make innovations now. Now, my new products are high in technology and others can't keep up. I am also relaxed.'

   Recently, some export companies have found that some business opportunities in foreign markets are often rushing, causing some products to kill each other in order to compete for customers, regardless of the bargaining price, not only unprofitable but also suspected of 'selling'. It shows that there are still people in the industry who have not changed their minds. It may be that China’s poverty and backwardness in the past 100 years have created a mentality of 'even if the product is simple and crude, as long as the beverage packing machine is cheap, it can be used together'. Intervening in the international market with this mentality will eventually lead to our products being the object of anti-sales investigations abroad. At that time, the loss was not an enterprise but the entire industry. I hope that the entire industry must be alert to such malicious competition. Low-level repetition is a relatively easy matter. Once the technological content is high, the possibility of repetition is naturally small. The severe consequences of low-level repeated production are disruption of the market, technological retrogression, corporate suicide, and industry damage.

  Because the industry is still an emerging industry, compared with the number of employees and the total number of enterprises in the industry, the proportion of corresponding majors in industry research institutes and colleges is still relatively small. Even so, after the scientific research institutes were converted into enterprises, their technical staff were mostly striving for survival. Many scientific research institutions mainly sold products and did not exert their own scientific research advantages, so there was a fault in the application of new technologies. Even if there are new research results, because there is no ability to promote it, users do not know that it cannot be transformed into productivity in time, and companies are forced to develop new products entirely on their own technical strength.

   The discontinuation of production and marketing of scientific research results not only causes huge extravagance, but also is not conducive to technological improvement. Some cutting-edge work such as ultra-low temperature, ultra-high pressure, membrane separation, supercritical extraction, radiation, vacuum and other technologies and equipment cannot be completed only by a certain institution, and enterprises are in urgent need of capital investment. In the past, the model of combining production, learning, and research was not reflected, and the limited scientific research strength was not fully exerted. As a result, many companies copied and imitated each other, and became their own products after a little improvement. In addition to the price advantage, this type of product is not competitive in the international market. I hope that the scientific research institutes and colleges in this industry will make full use of their own scientific research resources, use industry associations to match together, and 'marry' out new technologies. Of course, this technology must be practical and have better economic and social benefits.

Food packaging machinery itself is an emerging industry. Twenty years are not enough to form a brand that is deeply rooted in people's hearts, but companies that consistently adhere to 'quality first' first have the foundation for creating brand names, and they are constantly innovating in competition. , The application of high technology and the exploration of cutting-edge technology, famous enterprises and famous products will be gradually screened out. For example, beer beverage filling production line, corrugated cardboard production line, instant noodle production line, cup filling machine, wide laminating machine, 200 liter or more barrel blow molding machine, BOPP blow molding machine, chocolate equipment, homogenizer Although there are many manufacturers, but the famous ones with high sales volume have shown a significant concentration trend. Famous enterprises and famous brands are gradually forming.

There are nearly 6,000 companies in this industry in China. Nearly 15% of companies switch to production or close down each year, but about 15% of the companies join this industry. Only a dozen companies with output value and sales exceeding 100 million yuan are the best. The output value and sales of the companies have just exceeded 1 billion yuan, there is only one listed company, and only 50 companies have sales of more than 30 million yuan/year. The total sales of these 50 companies are only 8 billion yuan, only 20.66%. Concentration, 75% of export products are completed by these enterprises, and future large-scale enterprises in the industry will be produced in these enterprises. It is estimated that by 2005, there will be 100 companies with sales exceeding 30 million yuan per year, and the production concentration will reach more than 50%.
